On a trip to Bushy Summers earlier this year we took a detour at our friends suggestion and stopped off  at the cellar door of The Ridge in North Lileydale. It was here we met up with Harry Rigney and Susan Denny. We listened as they talked about their adventures into winemaking whilst tasting some of their delicious drops.

Community is essential. As humans we need to be included, feel loved, be appreciated and nurture friendships. The village of Skalochori opened my eyes to the importance of community.

The bedroom is one of my favourite rooms in the house, a little sanctuary where I feel safe, secure and cosy.

In September 2016, I took my first trip to the glorious city of Naples. My beautiful friend Carla Coulson, photographer and creative coach encouraged me to sign up to a photography workshop she was hosting there. The thought of visiting Naples for the first time and taking beautiful photographs excited me.

In the spring our village priest very proudly presided over the wedding service of his only daughter, Ismini. Everyone in the village, young and old were invited to this splendid event.

Every day thousands of refugees flee their homes, from countries where they are longer safe. They risk their lives travelling across the Aegean in over crowded and unsafe rubber and wooden boats in the hope of finding a safe place in Europe for themselves and their families.

Istanbul is a city of many layers. It’s a sophisticated city, a rich city, a poor city, a city of history, of culture, of tradition of modernity. A city with high energy.

Thursday is market day in Ayvalik. Market day is always lively and delicious produce is in abundance. The Turkish people are gentle and warm and the streets are full of fantastic colours and patterns.

I woke early this morning to the most beautiful day here on My Greek Island Home. I was excited as I had been invited to join my friend Stratis on an expedition to pick mushrooms.
