Finding a roof space on top of an old print factory in Clerkenwell London, was a surprise. I set about designing a 2,500 sqft lateral apartment, a place to live and work. With lots of natural light, terraces on both sides and featuring a huge skylight above the living area, it was an escape from the bustle of London life. This unique apartment went on to become the home of architect Dame Zaha Hadid.
